I am a researcher in the Scalable Systems Unit at RISE and an AI expert with the Sweden AI Factory. My work focuses on making AI practical outside the lab: computer vision, edge AI, multimodal perception and generative AI, and the systems needed to deploy them in real industrial settings.
I hold a PhD in machine learning, where I worked on multi-task learning and meta-learning for computer vision, as well as model sparsification to make models smaller and more efficient. My background is in electronics and signal and image processing, and I spent several years teaching electronics as a lecturer before moving into research. That path shaped how I work, with an eye on both the models and the hardware they run on.
At RISE, I mainly work on computer vision for real-world applications, taking methods from research to solutions that work on real data, under real constraints such as limited compute, latency and changing conditions. I enjoy working with industry partners to turn research results into something that holds up in practice.
I am always interested in collaborating with companies, public organisations and researchers on applied AI projects
