Someone recently called me brave. It stayed with me.
Because what we do every day in circular economy is a struggle. Trying to shift a stubborn system in a new direction. Standing up for something that doesn't yet exist – but must exist.
I work at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, trying to make that struggle a little easier. Through decision support that shows what sustainable transition actually costs and delivers. By taking ideas from napkin sketches to business plans. By connecting people who should be talking to each other.
Current work: helping industries and municipalities find value in what used to be waste or overlooked resources – materials, energy, and not least people. Working on everything from energy communities in small villages to circular flows in heavy industry. I like system demonstrators as a method – testing for real, not just studying
And the bigger question: how do we build an economic system that doesn't undermine its own foundation?
