We measure pretty much everything we do, all the time. Measurements are made all over the world, in our everyday lives, in our work, in all industries. But what happens if we don't measure and what can happen if we measure incorrectly?

While there is a great demand for measuring social and health values, it is a neglected area to ensure that the measurements maintain good measurement quality.How do you measure properties that cannot be measured with the SI units? And how do you do it with good quality?

Despite the fact that no measurement is flawless, we often blindly trust our measurements. At this seminar, we focus on measurement uncertainty, a fundamental concept in measurement technology that is basically about being critical of our measured values.

It may sound provoking, but we argue that a measurement result is worth nothing, unless the blurry zone surrounding the measured value is estimated, i.e. the measurement uncertainty. This applies in every measurement, both when used for calibration and in regular use of the instruments.
