Purpose
The method is intended to be used as a preliminary indication of the fire behavior of products with regard to flammability in a particular application.
The method measures the burn rate of a product horizontally. Examples of products that can be tested in this method: plastic, rubber, and other non-metallic materials.
Method
The test takes place in a test chamber where the specimen is mounted horizontally. A bunsen burner is applied at a 45° angle to the specimen for 30 seconds or until the flame front reach 25 mm. The time the material burns is registerd, also how long it takes for the flames to progress in the material. The result (Burning speed) is expressed in mm/min.
Deliveries
