MRC: Surface technology for corrosion prevention
The member research consortium (MRC) for surface technology is an international forum where we consolidate R&D efforts in the interface between surface technology and corrosion protection. The main goal of this forum is to investigate fundamental questions to solve practical problems.
By choosing suitable surface treatment methods, both lifetime and quality of a product can be improved. Our experience in research related to surfaces and coatings, including performance testing in both real and simulated environments, makes this MRC the perfect strategic partner for long-term collaboration. We have experience in analysis techniques involving a wide array of different materials including, steel and other metals, pretreatments, composite materials, and organic coatings.
With our state-of-the-art knowledge of surface technology and advanced analysis methods the consortium focuses on ways to find easily implementable solutions to problems. Examples of finished and ongoing projects include comparisons of the performance of coatings and pretreatments, identification of corrosion products, and analysis of surface cleaning methods.
