Contact LeneIn the textile industry, testing, certification and analysis are crucial to ensure product quality and compliance with legal requirements. Compliance can become both complex and costly. Limited testing capacity and growing sustainability requirements further increase this challenge
At RISE, a comprehensive laboratory is available for testing, verification and chemical analysis of textiles and other soft materials. Here, it is possible to ensure that products meet regulatory requirements, customer expectations and quality standards – from concept to finished product. In a market where safety, performance and regulatory compliance are increasingly important competitive factors, support is provided to ensure the quality of materials and products at every stage.

Determine how textiles perform under real-life use in skin-close microclimates. We assess properties such as moisture transport, thermal insulation, pressure distribution, air permeability, water repellency (Spray test and Bundesmann) and more. Using advanced equipment, we simulate realistic usage scenarios and provide objective data on comfort and functionality.
Evaluate strength, durability and wear resistance. Textiles undergo tensile, tear, seam and burst tests (CRE), abrasion (Martindale), pilling and snagging. We measure how materials withstand external stress over time and under various conditions – essential in product development, procurement and complaints handling.
Predict how textiles change over time. Colour change and staining are common causes of customer complaints. We test most types of colour fastness – including to washing, light, perspiration, water, migration and rubbing – tailored to the product’s intended use.
Validate lifespan and protective properties. Ageing is simulated through repeated wash cycles, exposure to light, abrasion or seawater.
Assess how textiles behave in fire. Fire testing is primarily used for textiles in transport, public spaces or protective equipment, but also applies to clothing, bedding and interior textiles. We test how quickly a material ignites, burns and possibly self-extinguishes.
Identify harmful substances, protecting both consumer and environment. Using an extensive range of instruments, we detect substances such as carcinogenic and allergenic dyes, PFAS, phthalates, bisphenols, heavy metals, siloxanes, quinoline, ADCA and UV stabilisers. These analyses help ensure that products meet legal requirements such as REACH – particularly important for children’s products and items in skin contact.
Strengthen brand value with a globally recognised label. RISE is an OEKO-TEX® institute authorised to certify according to STANDARD 100, LEATHER STANDARD, MADE IN GREEN, STeP and ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®. The certification signals chemical control, transparency and responsibility regarding products and production.
Develop solutions for specific needs. Our experts customise or develop testing methods based on your requirements – for example for new products, materials or unique applications not covered by existing standards.
Support in developing tailored requirement specifications. We help select relevant properties and corresponding test methods. We also provide knowledge to ensure that requirement levels are reasonable and applicable.
From raw or recycled material to the next product – create new solutions. With our expertise and equipment, we support product development using either virgin or recycled materials. We refine materials through tearing, carding, yarn spinning and needle punching to create textile prototypes in yarn, knitted or nonwoven form.
Get support throughout the chain – from development to market. We offer consulting on material selection, specifications, complaints and standards. Our training – both practical and theoretical – can be tailored to needs and cover topics from fibre science to testing methodology and laundry chemistry.
The Chemical Group is a network providing textile and electronics companies with access to up-to-date knowledge and expert support in chemical management and sustainability. Membership includes continuous monitoring, practical tools and updates on chemical legislation, as well as best practices for replacing hazardous substances.
We safeguard your innovations with proper handling of intellectual property and clear non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
RISE offers both specific services and long-term partnerships to support companies in transitioning to sustainable and circular textile products. Whether testing, certification, analysis or a more extensive collaboration across the entire development journey is needed, our support is adapted to your needs. We also assist with research proposals and joint projects – including help formulating and applying for EU-funded research and innovation projects, as well as advising on national programmes.
We provide consulting throughout the textile value chain – from strategy and material selection to advanced fibre development and recycling. Book a short advisory meeting directly or get in touch by email. We are happy to support the next step in your textile transition.
