Testing according to SS‑EN 1121: resistance to climatic influences
SS‑EN 1121 is a European testing standard used to evaluate how doors cope with variations in temperature and climate. The test aims to ensure that doors maintain their function, dimensional stability and performance even under demanding climatic conditions.

What does the test include?
The standard covers climate testing of door leaves, where the product is exposed to controlled temperature and humidity conditions on both sides. The aim is to simulate real-world conditions, such as temperature differences between the indoor and outdoor environment.
During the test, the following are measured, among other things:
- Deformation (bending/twisting) of the door leaf
- Formal stability over time during repeated climate cycles
- Possible impact on function, e.g. fit in frame
Implementation
The test is carried out in a climate chamber where the different sides of the door are exposed to specified temperatures according to the different climate classes of the standard. The temperature variations can be significant, which places high demands on the material and construction.
The door's deformation is continuously recorded during and after exposure to the weather. The results are evaluated according to standardized criteria and form the basis for classifying the product's weather resistance.
Delivery
The results are reported in a written report that describes how the test object has performed against the applicable classification standard EN12210.
The report includes descriptions, relevant accompanying images and drawings.
The report can be used as a basis for a compiled ITT report and/or as a basis for the manufacturer's declaration of performance for CE marking.
Other
At our building physics lab, we also perform other testing of resistance to wind load on other materials and building systems, etc. - see more in the related services below.
