Swedish start-up Einride wants to capture the potential of autonomous, electrified trucks. Every claim regarding safety, security and control must be verifiable. RISE has supported Einride with safety reviews in several crucial areas. "Our safety management model combines strong internal controls with independent third-party reviews," says Nourie Boraie, Head of Global Affairs & Safety Oversight at Einride.

People have dreamed of self-driving cars for as long as there have been cars. The technology is now available – but we still have to drive ourselves to work every day. "To take the next step, we need a national effort to show the way," says Anders Hjalmarsson Jordanius, Head of Mobility and Systems Research at RISE.

Computer systems, especially those used in safety-critical domains, should be designed, built and assessed not only from the functional point of view, but also with respect to their dependability properties such as safety and security.

As cars become more computers than vehicles, manufacturers need to add new skills to stay competitive. So what will be required of the automotive industry in the future?

Test and demonstration environments open previously closed doors - in more ways than one. They test the solutions of the future, while bringing together players from different industries and sectors. – For the green transition to gain momentum, several actors from different disciplines need to work together," says Per Lindquist, acting CTO at RISE.

Policy Lab is used to test, develop, and evaluate new technologies in combination with rules and policies that can act both as enablers and obstacles. The Lab is in high demand, and a series of projects are underway here, many of which involve autonomous vehicles.

In 2022, we established several testbeds, developed new offerings, and launched strategic collaborations that enhance our ability to support both businesses and the public sector.
