Paint center – surface treatment and painting in pilot and full scale
<p>At Paint center, companies can try and evaluate different pre-treatment and painting processes, chemicals and paint for most types of coatings. We have expertise throughout the entire value chain, from chemical and paint suppliers, paint users (in-house and jobcoaters) and application equipment suppliers to end users.</p>
The testbed Paint center is used both in research projects and in direct assignments for various companies. The unit is approximately 400 square meters and holds:
- Pilot plant for pre-treatment and electrochemical surface treatment
- Paint box with possibility to automated coating with robot
- Application equipment for manual spray application
- Lacquer box for powder coating
- Pilot scale curing oven
- IR ramp
Assignments may be to ensure that application equipment and robotic paths align with upcoming production settings or changes in the coating process. Paint manufacturers can evaluate new coating systems.
In the test bed we can simulate different environments in the spray booth such as humidity, air velocity and temperature to see how efficiency or process windows vary.
