Purpose
Precious metals jewelry /article weighing 1 gram or more shall be marked with a mark that indicates the fineness content. In addition, either a hallmark from our Assay office (the “kattfot”) or a registered responsibility mark is required.
- We perform impartial analysis of the precious metal content. Control mark guarantees that the item keeps the indicated fineness content now and forever.
- With “Kattfoten”, we, as an accredited independent notified body, take responsibility for the specified fineness being correct.
With the responsibility mark, without “Kattfot”, the manufacturer itself takes full responsibility for the article keeping the indicated fineness content.
This, of course, places special demands on both you who manufactures jewelry and you as a consumer and buyer of jewelry, baptism gifts and more.
Method
In the Assay Office we analyze the precious metal gold to secure the fineness for manufacturers, sellers, importers, private persons and more. We also implement analyzes of raw materials, semi-finished products and scrap containing gold.
Deliveries
The results are presented for analysis in the form of a report. Finished jewelry is analyzed by touchstone test and the results are presented in a report.
