The aim of the project was to provide existing buildings with solutions for densification and extended lifespan through vertical and lateral extensions using reusable, bio-based prefabricated building systems.

RISE is developing the digital tool Event & Climate, making it more user-friendly and credible through verified climate data and the development of business models.

Härryda Municipality is one of 48 Swedish cities that, within the initiative Climate Neutral Cities 2030, are working together with several national government agencies and Viable Cities to lead the way in the climate transition. Viable Cities' mission is Climate Neutral Cities 2030 with a good life for all within the planetary boundaries.

The project is a system demonstrator within FFI and focuses on testing the potential of HCT vehicles in urban traffic, both with conventional combustion engines and BEV trucks, in order to improve energy and transport efficiency and contribute to a more sustainable urban environment with fewer heavy vehicles. for the same transport mission.

HITS 3 addresses the challenges of urban logistics systems from a systemic perspective and aims to accelerate the transition toward more efficient and sustainable urban freight transport.

Climate change increases the risk of flooding, which demands collaboration between property owners, municipalities, and other stakeholders. Through a systems and futures analysis, the project develops business models, financing, and legal frameworks for joint actions – with the goal of creating resilient communities by 2035.

Together with Umeå Municipality, RISE has developes and tested new ways of working holistically with system innovation to increase the city's ability to adapt. The project will enable new ways of collaborating and working more jointly with the climate challenge, across the city's administrations and actors in the city.  

One of the central factors in promoting the use of micromobility is offering properly designed physical and digital infrastructures that actively support users and allow positive use experiences. 

The project aims to leverage big data analysis to identify the correlations between shared micromobility, transit, and other modes of transport in various urban contexts. By combining the results with user behavior models, the project will develop planning and optimization methods for multimodal mobility solutions that integrate micromobility.

The Sweden-Brazil Innovation Initiative (SBII) 2025+ accelerates collaboration in Life Science/Digital Health, Sustainable Cities, Sustainable Mining, and Bioeconomy by connecting stakeholders, identifying needs, and transforming ideas into solutions that address global societal challenges.

The project creates conditions for implementing efficient and sustainable climate adaptation of the built urban environment. The focus is on reducing vulnerability in case of cloudburst and heat waves with measures that also create other social, economic and environmental benefits.

The project is a feasibility study on how cities can plan, and build, to meet future needs regarding deliveries to homes and businesses. This includes issues regarding the creation of a nice urban environment, while securing people's needs for deliveries and waste management.

Digitalization of critical infrastructures is an important step for increased security, safety, effectiveness and availability. CRITISEC aimed to develop novel security products, services and standards for edge networks in critical infrastructures. Its goal was allowing critical infrastructure providers to improve the systems that they manage.

Urban planning and construction have great potential to contribute to sustainable development, but also to prevent it. New ways to measure and value investments, which provide a more comprehensive picture of the values that are created, are needed to lead the way to sustainable development.

SEBRA is a collaborative project between RISE, Aptiv and Liri that develops concept and technology solutions for a radar-based safety system for bicyclists. The goal is to improve awareness for bicyclists, improve coordination between motor vehicles within the smart traffic system and thereby improve traffic safety. With improved safety more people will feel safe and comfortable while biking which will improve green and safe city development.

The project S3 - Shared Shuttle Services is piloting shared autonomous electric mini buses at Lindholmen and Chalmers Campus Johanneberg in Gothenburg to show one of the solutions to the traffic challenges in our increasingly urbanised cities and to demonstrate how new mobility solutions can strengthen a sustainable city development. The initiative is part of Drive Sweden's project in The Swedish Government’s Innovation Partnership Program.
