My role at RISE is to serve as Head of the Bioeconomy Arena as well as Department Manager for the Biorefinery and Energy department. Since 2024, I have also been the Chair of the Industrial Energy Related Technologies and Systems TCP (IETS TCP), a so-called Technology Collaboration Programme under the International Energy Agency (IEA). I am also an adjunct professor at Luleå University of Technology in the field of Energy Engineering.
I have more than 15 years of experience in interdisciplinary work and collaboration across subject areas and organizational boundaries, with systems analysis and a holistic perspective at the core. This includes roles such as Director of f3 – the Swedish Knowledge Centre for Renewable Transportation Fuels, and Division Manager at the Swedish Energy Agency. A large part of my professional life has in various ways focused on the barriers, opportunities, and forms of collaboration within and between industry and other stakeholders that are necessary (but so difficult!) for the transition toward greater sustainability—primarily applied to the development of biorefineries, the bioeconomy, and renewable fuels.
My expertise and main research interest lie in industrial transformation, and more specifically in system perspectives on the transition of the process industry and the transport sector, with a focus on renewable fuels, the pulp and paper industry, the chemical industry, biorefineries, and the use of biomass.
