Collaboration brings world-class AI infrastructure, expertise and startup support to Swedish researchers, businesses and the public sector.
Sweden AI Factory, one of Europe's 19 AI Factories funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and Sweden, today announced a key collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate AI adoption and innovation by European startups and SMEs.
Built by a consortium led by NAISS (National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden) and RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden), Sweden AI Factory provides free access to native AI-optimised supercomputing resources along with hands-on expert support for startups, SMEs, academia and the public sector.
The Sweden AI Factory Accelerator Program with NVIDIA will strengthen the Factory's mission to democratise access to advanced AI infrastructure and services particularly for European and local startups and SMEs through the NVIDIA Inception program for startups. Through NVIDIA's deep expertise in accelerated computing, AI frameworks and developer tools, Sweden AI Factory will strengthen their support to users across its key sectors like life sciences, materials science, autonomous systems and the gaming industry through the development and training of sovereign language models.
“NVIDIA's expertise in AI frameworks and accelerated computing complements the infrastructure we've already built to help Swedish research and industry develop and train their own sovereign language models. Together, we can help Swedish startups and SMEs move from early experimentation to production-ready AI solutions — while strengthening Sweden's position within the European AI ecosystem." said Thor Wikfeldt at RISE, deputy Director, Sweden AI Factory.
Through this collaboration, Swedish startups will benefit from access to NVIDIA AI infrastructure, technical expertise, training, and go-to-market support — creating a more direct path from early AI experimentation to production-ready deployment.
The collaboration should expand in the future to also support Sweden AI Factory's broader training and upskilling mission, with joint training, vertical workshops, bootcamps and accelerated learning programmes designed to build Sweden's AI talent pool and strengthen its position within the European AI ecosystem.
