SEEL achieves TISAX certification across all facilities

03 June 2026, 05:20

As one of Europe’s most advanced environments for research and testing of electrified transportation systems, SEEL must meet stringent requirements for information security and prototype protection to address the automotive industry’s specific needs. The test center’s two facilities in Säve and Nykvarn are now certified under TISAX, the automotive industry’s common standard for the secure handling of data, development information, and prototype protection. Together with the previously certified Battery Safety Lab in Borås, this means that all three SEEL facilities now meet TISAX requirements.

The certification marks an important milestone in strengthening the protection of sensitive information and prototypes throughout the development chain. TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is an industry-wide framework for ensuring the secure handling of sensitive information and prototype protection. The framework is used throughout the European automotive industry and is administered by the ENX Association. The certification means that SEEL meets the requirements for both technical and organizational information security and that the certification results can be shared directly with other approved industry players.

SEEL is one of Europe’s most advanced facilities for research and testing of electrified transportation systems. The facilities in Säve and Nykvarn offer a wide range of equipment that covers the entire spectrum of test objects, from battery button cells to complete vehicles. Here, industry and academia can collaborate to develop, verify, and evaluate technology for electrified vehicles, energy systems, and batteries – from early prototypes to finished products – in environments that are now also certified for prototype protection.

“The TISAX certification is clear proof that our facilities meet the industry’s high standards for the secure handling of information and prototypes, in addition to the requirements covered by ISO/IEC 17025 for accredited testing operations. We see a growing need for test environments that combine cutting-edge technology with robust information security and prototype protection,” says Victoria Woyland, CEO of SEEL.

The Battery Safety Lab in Borås is already TISAX certified, which means that SEEL and RISE’s comprehensive offering in testing, verification, and development is now further strengthened.

“This combined offering enables us to meet the industry’s growing need for secure, reliable, and high-performance test environments for the development of next-generation technology,” concludes Victoria Woyland.
