The project aims to develop and demonstrate a fossil-free, efficient logistics solution as well as the ecosystem (collaboration, regulations, infrastructure) required to success in the transition to fossil-free and sustainable transport. The hypothesis is to be able to reduce the number of deliveries by 30% to recipients during the Pilot.
The overall goal of the project is to create conditions for stakeholders within the event area to transition towards fossil-free and sustainable transportation, and reduce traffic flows. This will contribute to a more attractive city center, while also contributing to reduction of congestion, noise, accident risks, local environmental impact, and climate effects. The approach involves establishing a new type of collaboration for shared distribution, enabling change and promoting the initiative’s resilience over time. The collaboration model aims to be commercially sustainable and provide a scalable logistics system for efficient resource utilization, ultimately leading to reduced traffic and societal costs. The beneficiaries of this system include different kind of stakeholders: recipients, transporters and the city. Additionally, the model has the potential to be applied in other locations in Gothenburg, as well as in other cities in Sweden and Europe.
