RISE provides textile testing, material analysis and certification support to ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance. We test and verify textile materials and products according to applicable legislation and international standards — from development and material selection to finished, market-ready products.
Accredited according to ISO 17025 and operating one of Northern Europe’s most comprehensive textile laboratories, RISE offers material expertise, evaluation, development, advisory services and more than 400 chemical, mechanical and physical test methods for textiles and other soft materials such as nonwovens, foams, plastics and leather.
We help you ensure that your products meet legal requirements, customer expectations and quality standards — from concept to final product. In a market where safety, performance and compliance are critical competitive factors, we support quality assurance at every stage.
Ensure how textiles perform in real-use, skin-close microclimates. We evaluate properties such as moisture transport, thermal insulation, pressure distribution, air permeability, water repellency (spray test and Bundesmann) and more. Using advanced equipment, we simulate realistic use scenarios and provide objective data on comfort and functionality.
Evaluate strength, durability and performance. Textiles are subjected to tensile, tear, seam and bursting tests (CRE), abrasion testing (Martindale), pilling and snagging assessments. We measure how materials withstand mechanical stress over time and under different conditions — essential for product development, procurement and claims investigations.
Predict how textiles change over time. Colour change and staining are common causes of customer complaints. We test colour fastness to washing, light, perspiration, water, migration and rubbing, tailored to the product’s intended use.
Validate lifespan and protective performance. We simulate ageing through repeated washing cycles, light exposure, abrasion or seawater exposure to assess durability and long-term functionality.
Evaluate textile behaviour in fire situations. Fire testing is primarily used for textiles in transportation, public environments and protective equipment, as well as apparel, bedding and interior products. We assess ignition behaviour, flame spread and self-extinguishing properties.
Identify hazardous substances and protect consumers and the environment. With advanced instrumentation, we detect substances such as carcinogenic and allergenic dyes, PFAS, phthalates, bisphenols, heavy metals, siloxanes, quinoline, ADCA and UV stabilisers. Testing supports compliance with regulations such as REACH, particularly important for children’s products and skin-contact materials.
Strengthen your brand with globally recognised certification. RISE is an OEKO-TEX® institute authorised to certify according to STANDARD 100, LEATHER STANDARD, MADE IN GREEN, STeP and ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®. Certification demonstrates chemical control, transparency and responsible production practices.
Develop solutions for unique requirements. Our experts adapt or develop test methods to meet specific product, material or application needs that may not be covered by existing standards.
Receive support in developing your own product specifications. We assist in selecting relevant properties linked to appropriate test methods and provide guidance to establish realistic and meaningful performance requirements.
From raw materials or recycled inputs to new products — develop next-generation textile solutions. With our expertise and pilot equipment, we support product development using virgin or recycled materials. We process materials through shredding, carding, yarn spinning and needle punching to create textile prototypes in yarn, knitted fabrics or nonwoven structures.
Receive support throughout the textile value chain — from development to market. We provide advisory services on material selection, specifications, complaints handling and standards. Our customised courses and training programmes cover topics from fibre science to test methodology and textile chemistry.
The Chemical Group is a network providing companies in the textile and electronics sectors with up-to-date knowledge and expert support in chemical management and sustainability. Membership includes regulatory monitoring, practical tools and guidance on replacing hazardous substances in line with current legislation.
We protect your innovations through proper intellectual property management and clear non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
RISE offers both specific services and long-term partnerships to support companies in the transition to sustainable and circular textile products. Whether you require testing, certification, analysis or comprehensive collaboration throughout the development journey, we adapt our support to your needs.
We also assist with research applications and joint projects, including preparation and submission of EU-funded research and innovation proposals as well as advisory support for national funding programmes.
We provide advisory support across the entire textile value chain — from strategy and material selection to advanced fibre development and recycling. Book a short advisory meeting or contact us by email. We are happy to support your next step in textile transformation.
