At RISE, our lab-scale melt spinning line allows the development of mono- and bi-component fibres from as little as 100 g of material. Despite the small scale, the system includes all essential components of the melt spinning process, enabling controlled evaluation of spinnability, fibre geometry, and processing parameters.
The service is ideal for R&D projects where material availability is limited, enabling you to establish proof of concept and test new fibre formulations early in the development process. You can explore mono- and bi-component combinations, new polymers and additives and gain valuable insights that inform pilot- and industrial-scale production.
Our bi-component lab-scale spinning line is designed for flexible research and prototyping. Polymers are extruded through a spin pack with integrated filters, drawn in a two-step draw zone, and finally collected on a bobbin, allowing precise control over fibre formation and early-stage material evaluation.
We also offer spinnability evaluation and material selection support to help you optimise polymer blends and fibre properties, as well as pilot-scale melt spinning services.
Interested in exploring melt spinning solutions or prototyping innovative fibres and yarns? Our experts are ready to collaborate with you on research and development projects, from lab-scale trials to pilot production.
