Purpose

The purpose of the method is to evaluate the flame spread property defined as burning time.

Method

Ignition is carried out for 10 seconds with a small gas flame against the surface or bottom edge of the material.

Standards like SS-EN 1102, burning behavior-curtains and drapes and SS-EN 1103, fabrics for apparel-burning behavior refers to this method.
