DynaNav ÖKS turns dynamic nautical data into coherent, operationally ready navigation services across Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Through common standards, secure distribution and realistic user testing, the project supports safer, smarter and more sustainable shipping. Benefitting the end-users onboard navigating the seas.
The waters of the Öresund, Kattegat and Skagerrak are among the busiest in Europe. Every day, thousands of vessels navigate narrow straits, shifting conditions and dense traffic - relying on navigational information that is often static, fragmented, or updated far too slowly for the pace of modern shipping.
Dynamic Navigation ÖKS is a new cross-border project, co-funded by the EU programme Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak, bringing together maritime authorities, hydrographic experts and leading researchers from Sweden, Denmark and Norway to develop, test and implement dynamic navigation services for the Öresund Skagerrak and Kattegat waters, with focus on dynamic depth standards and navigational warnings in S-100 format, the promulgation of services in need of real-time distribution and training of end-users in the transition to S-100 ECDIS.
The ambition is to give mariners, ports and authorities access to more precise, dynamic and timely navigational information - supporting safer passages, more efficient voyages, lower emissions and a more resilient maritime transport system across our shared sea.
