Second Round – a breakfast on how products get a reliable new life
Coffee, breakfast and an hour on how products and materials can get a reliable new life. Welcome to RISE’s free breakfast seminar at Elmia Subcontractor, where you will meet our researchers, project managers and partners working with reuse, remanufacturing and recycled materials.
➡️ Wednesday 11 November, 08:00–09:00, networking until 09:30
➡️ The SMART area, Elmia Subcontractor, Jönköping
➡️ Free of charge
➡️ Register by 5 November. Places are limited
➡️ The seminar will be held in Swedish
Supply disruptions and rising material costs have turned reuse, remanufacturing and recycled materials into a question of resilience, not just the environment. It is also the theme of this year’s Elmia Subcontractor, the subcontracting fair in Jönköping: “Resilience powered by industry”. RISE works for a competitive and resilient industry, which is why it feels natural for us to be there and share our knowledge.
For products and materials to get a new life on an industrial scale, a few key questions need to be answered: Will the component hold up for another round of use? Can the product be disassembled without being damaged? Can recycled material replace new material without lowering performance and quality requirements? And how are the environmental benefits verified?
During the breakfast, before the exhibition halls open, experts from RISE together with ROL Group present methods and experiences from research and industrial projects, from testing and disassembly to material data, verification and profitable business models.
After the presentations, we stay on in the SMART area to answer questions, and you can book follow-up meetings with us during the day.
Åsa Lauenstein
Åsa Lauenstein is a senior researcher and project manager in industrial manufacturing processes, especially metal casting. She works on bringing new sustainable technologies into traditional foundries and has previously worked on material and process development in the Swedish steel industry. She frequently represents RISE at conferences and industry events, and has moderated Gjuteridagarna, the Swedish foundry industry’s conference, four years in a row. Åsa moderates the breakfast.
Emma Enebog
Emma Enebog is a project manager focusing on remanufacturing and sustainable manufacturing. She has led and contributed to a range of projects on circular solutions, including in the automotive, textile, furniture and metal industries, and helps companies develop remanufacturing into a profitable strategy. She talks about what it takes for remanufacturing to pay off, and, together with Lucas Andersson from ROL Group, about what you can learn from taking a product apart.
Lucas Andersson
Over the past five years, Lucas Andersson has helped develop ROL Group’s sustainability work into an integrated part of the company’s business and offering. The focus is on helping customers, as a manufacturing company, reduce their emissions and use resources more efficiently. Together with Emma Enebog, he talks about what you can learn from taking a product apart.
Hampus Johansson
Hampus Johansson is a business developer in the Materials and Industry division, focusing on making the plastics industry more sustainable through smarter material choices. He presents the Re:Polymer test program, where testing and analysis provide the material data needed for recycled materials to be used in new products from the start.
Pär Andersson
Pär Andersson is a senior researcher in the Materials and Industry division. He helps Swedish industry in casting, machining and heat treatment through commissions and projects, to improve products and processes or investigate failures. Together with David Engberg, he talks about methods for non-destructive testing, with examples from the automotive and aerospace industries.
David Engberg
David Engberg is programme manager for RISE’s test bed for sustainable composite manufacturing, within the Materials and Industry division, focusing on making composite materials more accessible for sustainable applications. Together with Pär Andersson, he talks about non-destructive testing as a prerequisite for remanufacturing.
Lena Jönsson
Lena Jönsson is a lead auditor and service manager for areas including corporate social responsibility, within the Safety and Transport division. With 25 years of experience in auditing and certification, she focuses particularly on how independent review can create business value and credibility, not least in the field of sustainability. She talks about verifying sustainability declarations according to SIS TS 2, and how this can strengthen the credibility of companies’ sustainability communication.
