The testbed for the circular wood value chain in Skellefteå is a creative environment for research and development. Here, you can test, verify, and further develop materials, components, and building systems – from idea to reuse – in collaboration with experts and industry.

By applying high pressure and heat, pulp fibres can be compressed and bonded together in a way that increases paper density and strength. The lignin in the mechanical pulp plays a crucial role in creating strong packaging as it acts as a natural binder between the fibers.

RISE testbed for furniture testing can test furniture and adjacent products for more than 50 different standards, and is often used for labeling according to TMF's Möbelfakta.

A nationally unique testbed with environments that makes it possible to test and evaluate a variety of properties such as strength and rigidity, glue resistance, through delamination and shear samples for the development and certification of the products.

The laboratory has world-unique instruments for efficient analysis of a large number of properties of wood and fibres important for industry and research. The instruments can also contribute to projects where effects of forest management and plant breeding are studied.

The testbed is nationally unique due to the possibility of customising each chamber to fit your need as a client.The testbed offers the opportunity to test e.g. composite wood products, paints and furniture with regard to chemical emissions in tailored environments.
