Alternative binders
Cement accounts for the largest climate impact of concrete use. Reducing cement use without compromising the quality of the concrete is desirable for the entire construction industry.
The availability of alternative binders is limited and at present can neither replace the entire amount of cement, not even a large part. The goal is to analyse availability of alternative binders over time.
To make a realistic future scenario analysis, we need to use new types of cement and binders such as clay mineral and ground limestone.
