Stone Cells
Mechanical pulp containing aspen or spruce are examples of wood chips where there are stone cells. In connection with changes to the wood mix, or when using new types of wood, it is important to know how the process is affected so that the problems with stone cells can be minimized.
Through a combination of analyzes with a light table and a microscope, the presence and type of stone cells can be determined. Results of various experiments on a pilot or factory scale can be easily quantified and followed up, and customers gain knowledge of how the stone cell problem can be mastered.
Dirt and Shives
Even when it comes to stains and shives, light tables, microscopes and scanners, in combination with the staff's experience, are invaluable when it comes to identifying and quantifying these impurities.
In connection with conversions, for example silage, process steps in the pulp line or milling, we receive pulp samples for analysis of impurities. The most common is that we get the mass or stock in wet form and then we make laboratory sheets which we then measure the tip and stains on.
The standard methods we apply include ISO 5350-1, ISO 5350-2, ISO 5350-3, and T 213. These methods have been established to ensure a consistent and reliable analysis of various materials and substances.
It is important to note that the more information we receive regarding the issue and the process, the better equipped we are to provide detailed and relevant answers to our customers. By understanding the context and specific requirements, we can tailor our analyses and recommendations to meet the needs of our customers in the best possible way.
Therefore, we encourage our customers to share as much information as possible about their problems and processes. This may include details about the material properties, process parameters, previous tests or analyses conducted, and other relevant factors. With a thorough understanding of the situation, we can effectively apply our expertise and experience to deliver high-quality solutions and answers.
With our expertise in microscopy and our extensive experience in pulp technology, we are well-equipped to perform a variety of analyses and studies in areas related to pulp, paper, cardboard, and other related materials. We always strive to deliver high-quality results and tailored solutions that meet our customers' specific needs and contribute to their success in the market.
RISE offers a report that includes data in Excel format and relevant images and diagrams. It is carefully compiled using standard methods for the conducted analyses.
