Reduced environmental impact using plant protection products in greenhouses
When using chemical plant protection products in greenhouses, there will always be a risk that they will leak to the surrounding environment. Precautions and safe handling are therefore required. This includes both good routines and technical methods for purification of water flows.
Aim and goal
The aim of the project is to develop a safe handling of chemicals plant protection products in greenhouses.
Challenge
Chemical residuals from greenhouse production is found in several surface waters in Sweden. The levels are in many cases over the threshold levels.
Solution
A recirculating system that is suited for the production site and continuously checked, in combination with correct handling routines and, if necessary, cleaning systems for the drainage water.
Effect
Environmental impact can be decreased as well as a better working environment.
