CATAPULT - Policies for inclusive autonomous mobility solutions for cities
The project participants conduct research but also acts for knowledge building to influence and develop policies that enable inclusive solutions for the autonomous transports of the future.
A collaboration for more inclusive public transportation
The project goal is to create and adapt policies to improve target group-specific, inclusive and demand-driven automated mobility solutions in cities and urban regions. The needs of potential users of these services, their willingness to use them and appropriate use cases have so far been underrepresented in the development of automated mobility solutions. Therefore, relevant user cases will be identified, analyzed and validated on a laboratory scale. Potential users include children, the elderly and people with temporary and long-term sensory and/or physical disabilities. Empirical research consisting of field studies will be conducted with these user groups using the research platform Ridethefuture. CATAPULT will provide important information for the development of practical “step-by-step” recommendations for policies and for providers of mobility services. The project is a European collaboration project funded by Urban Europe, implemented with partners in Austria, (Austriatech & Factum) Belgium (KULeuven) and Sweden (RISE).
