Regional development node for lightweight solutions in Småland
The aim is to build a regional infrastructure for LIGHTer in Småland. This means that a particular focus is on lightweight solutions in industrial sectors such as plastics, foundry, sheet metal, profile, wood and cutting machining. Offers are developed based on company needs in close collaboration with industry organizations, academia & institutes

The aim is to build a regional infrastructure for LIGHTer in Småland. (LIGHTer is the national lightweight arena.)
Challenge
Create an industry-wide lightweight arena for the efficiency of technology development and development of people with unique, multidisciplinary ability to create low-weight products.
Solution
The project will provide processes for:
- Analyzes of future product and business opportunities,
- Rigging, financing and implementation of development projects
- Product development, testing and verification
- Provision of expert assistance and degree work
- Prototype production, testing, verification and certification
- Market analyzes, study trips and business development
Effect
The overall objective of the project is to increase the ability of regional companies to develop and commercialize new innovative products focusing on weight and resource efficiency, ecological and social sustainability, and good profitability. The overall objectives of the project contribute to regional industrial development and renewal, increased competitiveness and thus long-term regional growth.
