Lakshmi Priya Gandla

Lakshmi Priya Gandla was born in southern India in 1996. She earned a dual-degree (B.Tech–M.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, India, in 2018. She began her career at India Power Corporation Limited, working on power transmission and distribution systems. In 2020, she moved to Sweden to pursue a Master’s in Electric Power Engineering at Chalmers University of Technology, specializing in electric propulsion. During her studies, she contributed to the Chalmers Formula Student electric race team, where she helped design in-house SiC-based inverters. Since 2022, Lakshmi has worked in power electronics roles at Volvo Trucks and Ericsson, focusing on inverter topologies and power converter validation. In 2024, she joined RISE as a Researcher in the Smart Hardware department, where she works on power module design and soft-switching DC-DC converters for electric motor drive systems. She is also involved in EU research projects targeting energy-efficient automotive power conversion.
Her expertise includes power converter design, soft-switching techniques, SiC-based inverters, PCB design, testing and system-level thermal and electrical modeling for motor drive applications.
