Contact Marie-LouiseThe projects SINDRI, OCEAN-LSAM, and SPARSAM share a common focus on sustainable manufacturing and a circular economy, utilizing additive manufacturing as an enabler. However, they approach the challenges through distinct strategies, each with its own unique approach.
Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been around for decades without any significant disruptive impact on the supply chain on a larger system level. Currently, the increasing maturity of additive manufacturing (AM) is facilitating its transition from being primarily used as a tool for 3D visualization and prototyping to becoming a viable option for large-scale industrial manufacturing of components and products.
The projects SINDRI, OCEAN-LSAM and SPARSAM ask questions such as:
In January 2023, the Application Center for Additive Manufacturing arranged an exclusive webinar for its Center partners, where the projects SINDRI, OCEAN-LSAM and SPARSAM were presented in-depth. Their presentations are now publicly available.
Robin Teigland from Chalmers presents OCEAN-LSAM, a project about large-scale AM and recycled polymers from the ocean.

Markus Eriksson and Magnus Widfeldt from RISE present SPARSAM, a project about logistics and defining business criteria for a selection of 3D printed components.

Patrik Härnman from LiU presents SINDRI, a project about printing by Precision Powder Pressing for metals.
The projects are funded by Vinnova, Swedish Energy Agency and Formas, through the Strategic Innovation Program Produktion 2030.
