Senior researcher – Organizational aspects of cybersecurity

We are looking for a senior researcher to work with us on developing knowledge and methods for understanding future challenges and solutions within cybersecurity. The focus is on organizational and human factors in connection with cybersecurity. Most of our research is conducted within the context of mobility and transportation. Industrial experience in these areas is an advantage but not a necessity. This position's location is in Gothenburg, Sweden.
In the Mobility and Systems unit, we conduct applied research within sustainable transport and surrounding domains (vehicles, mobility services, etc.). In the ongoing transformation towards increased digitalization, automation, and electrification there are many unanswered questions. There is a need for exploration, understanding, and the building of new knowledge regarding complex organizational relations, processes, and technical aspects of systems of systems. To create solutions that are secure in our increasingly digitalized society we need to understand the threats and weaknesses of digital systems, and conduct research that will help improve them.
About the position
You will create, conduct, and lead interdisciplinary research projects in close collaboration with other researchers at RISE. Our research is empirical, and we conduct it together with our industrial and public partners in order to understand future challenges, provide improvement suggestions, and observe the effects.
Our research project portfolio in cybersecurity is broad. We work with everything from self-learning systems for intrusion detection to how organizations can collaborate with external actors in vulnerability discovery. Our colleagues have backgrounds in information systems, business modelling, organizational theory, AI, law, philosophy and much more. The interdisciplinary nature of our teams together with their versatile methodological knowledge is one of our biggest strengths, allowing us to take on complex societal challenges.
Your work will consist of empirical research focused on the organizational and human factors dimensions of cybersecurity in relation to mobility and transportation. The research should contribute to new solutions that allow for the secure digitalization of Swedish industry and society.

- General research competence within cybersecurity
- Industrial experience in the field of cybersecurity
- Experience with applying for research funding
- Good ability to plan your own work
- Good ability to work in teams
- Good ability to report results in writing and oral presentation

- Take project ideas from conception through putting together consortiums, writing, and submitting applications.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams aiming at solving complex societal problems.
