The international standard ISO 26262 is used for ensuring functional safety of electric/electronic (E/E) systems used for implementing safety-related functionality in road vehicles.
The course will provide an overview of the application of the ISO 26262 standard for functional safety of E/E systems in the automotive domain.
The participants will get a basic understanding of the mindset of the standard, including how to identify and estimate the need for risk reduction in the E/E systems. Furthermore, the participant should get a general understanding of how to achieve and assess risk reduction, and the implications on supplier/customer relations.
The goal is to get an understanding of what is covered in the standard, and where to find what kind of information among the 12 parts of ISO 26262.
The course is suited both for managers and engineers involved in automotive E/E systems.
