Contact MariWelcome to RISE Proving Ground AstaZero, a full day of insight and inspiration in partnership with Sweden's leading Traffic Safety Event.
Join us for a full day of insight, inspiration, and collaboration at Sweden’s leading traffic safety event. Held at the cutting-edge AstaZero test facility, this gathering brings together municipalities, government agencies, researchers, companies, non-profit organisations, and academia to explore the future of safe and sustainable mobility.
What to Expect:
• Interactive workshops
• Live demonstrations of complex traffic situations
• Presentations of groundbreaking research and scientific articles
• A keynote speaker from the forefront of mobility and safety
The forum offers a unique opportunity to strengthen cross-sector collaboration, showcase research in real traffic environments, identify shared challenges and research needs, and reinforce Sweden's global position as a leader in traffic safety and future mobility.
Who should attend?
If you work with policy, develop technology, or conduct research, this is your chance to network, contribute, and help create a safer future.
Transport:
Free bus transport is available from Lindholmspiren 3 in Gothenburg for those who wish to use it.
Please gather outside Lindholmen Science Park at 7:45 a.m.
After the event, the bus will take you to the networking evening at World of Volvo. You can sign up for transport when you register.

11:40 AstaZero Test Planning Factory: Physical Replication of Target Operational Domains in Controlled Environments
B.Sc. Johanna Persson, Research Engineer
AstaZero AB
When testing critical scenarios within the intended operational domain (OD), the actual environment is not always accessible. In the MODI-project, the AstaZero Test Planning Factory was used to replicate the complete use case environment for physical testing at a test track. By analysing the OD, a digital twin was created and deployed physically at an alternative location, enabling comprehensive verification and validation of the automated driving system.
12:00 Coffee & Exhibition
12:20 Distributed edge computing
M.Sc. Samuel Bach, Doctoral Student
AstaZero AB
The safe and efficient operation of automated vehicles is computationally complex and expensive. Utilising computational offloading to alleviate the vehicles of this is a promising solution. The work in this paper evaluates the resilience of such solutions, focusing on adverse network conditions. This included packet loss, throughput rate limiting, packet corruption, and RF attenuation. Experiments were conducted with a vehicle on a test track, offloading object detection to a nearby edge server.
12:40 VERDAS – Verification methods for Robust Driver Assist System performance, Euro NCAP
Stephan Ryrberg
AstaZero AB
The goal of the project is to support significantly improved road safety for automated vehicles by developing physical and virtual verification methods for the efficient development of Driver assistance systems to take care of a larger part of all accident scenarios, and ensure that the safety function performance is robust in real-world accident scenarios. The project supports Euro NCAP's development of robustness rating methods with a specific focus on accident scenarios with vulnerable road users.

13:45 Demonstrations
Sensor degradation testing with water spray
Experience our Spray Rig to generate a repeatable water spray with droplet sizes of 100–200 µm, simulating conditions behind a vehicle on a wet road. A test vehicle observes the spray with automotive sensors, and live sensor data is displayed. A video feed shows contrast degradation using a checkerboard target. The demo illustrates how AstaZero enables efficient, lab-based sensor testing under realistic conditions.
Aptiv radar detection in smoke
Experience the power of advanced vehicle perception technology that never loses sight of what matters. Our demonstration showcases a cutting-edge sensor fusion system where radar and camera technologies work both independently and collaboratively to keep you safe. Watch as our test vehicle maintains perfect tracking of a target car even when surrounded by a dense smoke screen that renders cameras completely blind. While traditional vision systems fail, our radar technology pierces through the obscurity, demonstrating how our sensor fusion approach provides uninterrupted awareness in challenging conditions.
This real-world demonstration highlights why redundant sensing technologies are crucial for the future of automotive safety and autonomous driving—because road hazards don't wait for perfect visibility.
Remote driving with virtual environment & connectivity slicing
Experience remote driving using virtual environments and advanced connectivity slicing. This demonstration highlights how complex traffic situations can be safely simulated and tested, increasing the efficiency and reliability of automated vehicle development. Attendees will see how network slicing supports secure remote driving, showcasing how both virtual and real-world testing can accelerate the safe adoption of automated vehicles.
Terranet BlincVision Sensor fusion detection
Terranet is developing BlincVision – a fast anti-collision system powered by event cameras, a laser scanner, software, and an AI model. The combination enables minimal delay in object detection and braking. At AstaZero, we proudly present our MVP (Minimum Viable Product) – a simplified version of the final product where the core functions take centre stage.
We will demonstrate the EuroNCAP CPNCO-50 scenario, a recognised test that illustrates a common and critical traffic situation where two cars are parked in a row, blocking the driver’s view, and a child suddenly runs out from between them. Welcome to see BlincVision as an MVP in action.
