Resilience: For Today's Needs and Tomorrow's Crises

ABOUT THE PROJECT

REDO increases knowledge about Sweden's capacity for critical societal supply within maritime logistics chains during disruptions and crises. The project focuses on building a deeper understanding of how companies and public authorities currently work with resilience, both internally and in collaboration with external actors, and, above all, what needs and challenges exist. The project's results contribute to identifying important pathways toward a more robust and coordinated Sweden.

WHY THIS MATTERS FOR SWEDISH INDUSTRY

The private sector plays a decisive role in Sweden’s supply preparedness. Disruptions in logistics chains affect not only essential societal functions but also the Swedish economy, through business continuity, customer relations, and national competitiveness. Through the REDO project, we collect resilience needs from both private and public actors to understand the conditions and challenges faced by Swedish industry. Strengthened preparedness for disruptions in maritime supply chains is now a critical issue for industry, society at large, and Sweden’s total defense. This is an area where RISE continuously develops knowledge to support industry through research, innovation, and development.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We are conducting needs interviews with selected actors from both the private and public sectors. The aim is to capture different perspectives on resilience, current practices, and future needs. These interviews are a key step in shaping the direction of our continued work, toward stronger Swedish supply preparedness within maritime supply chains.
