Materials testing and practical metallography

The course provides knowledge about materials testing, sample preparation and the microscopy of iron and steel castings.

Over two course days, we go through various issues, challenges and difficulties related to materials testing, simulation, sample preparation and microscopy of iron and steel castings. We delve into the methodology of material investigation in terms of quality management.

Content

Various issues, challenges and difficulties in materials testing, simulation, sample preparation and microscopy of iron and steel castings.  

How material investigation are performed, evaluated and assessed in terms of quality management.

The course alternates theory with practical exercises in our laboratories.

Target group

The course is suitable for engineers, operators, technicians and designers within quality and production assurance, who work at an iron or steel foundry and within casting machining. The course is also suitable for you who work as a buyer or quality manager at a company that buys iron or steel castings.
