NFSN Summer School 2026
The Nordic Fire and Safety Network Focus on Energy (NFSNergy) is a consortium of leading Nordic universities and research institutes specializing in fire safety and risk management.
Recognizing that safety—and particularly fire safety—is essential in all energy-related research projects, the initiative aims to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange across the Nordic region. A key objective is to enhance networking among PhD students and researchers working on the safety of buildings and energy infrastructures.
One of the project’s core activities is organizing summer schools that bring together multidisciplinary teams. These schools focus on critical energy-related topics, including:
- Fire safety in emerging bioenergy systems
- Safety of energy storage systems in sustainable buildings
- Enhanced digitalization through Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Fire safety of new energy carriers in green transport systems
Through participation in NFSNergy, PhD students gain access to a vibrant Nordic network, enabling them to connect with peers from other countries and engage with cutting-edge research. The summer schools and workshops provide opportunities to broaden their understanding of fire safety in energy contexts, extending beyond their individual research areas.
