Matchmaking R&D&I 2025 – Kanada

Purpose and objectives

The project aims to enhance the capacity of Swedish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to initiate and participate in international research and innovation collaborations in Canada. We provide coaching, conduct partner scouting and matching with researchers, companies, clusters, and public-sector actors, and support consortium formation in preparation for relevant funding calls.

Activities and approach

• Conduct needs assessments and partner scouting through the Enterprise Europe Network—the world’s largest business support network (600+ organizations across 60+ countries).
• Organize tailored matchmaking during the Sweden–Canada Innovation Days in Ottawa, 2025.
• Design meetings and quality-assure matches, providing advisory support for consortium formation and proposal preparation.
• Pursue continuous method development: document and refine a reusable methodology for international matchmaking to inform future initiatives.

Expected results and benefits

• Enhanced international competitiveness of participating SMEs and increased societal value through new research and innovation collaborations.
• A reusable matchmaking methodology to underpin future international innovation partnerships.
