Contact SammieOur paper testing is mainly focused on paper used for documents. Permanent paper is often used for copying. Archival paper is made from textiles and is much stronger and therefore more suitable for documents that should be stored, e.g. ratings and diploma. Paper that has been tested and certified by RISE can be marked with “Svenskt arkiv”.
Permanent documents are those that may be stored for several hundred years in protected environments. Either permanent paper or archival paper is recommended.
Archival paper shall meet the requirements for permanent paper. The archival papers are stronger than the permanent paper and can withstand considerably more handling.
Archival paper is evaluated according to ISO 11108 and permanent paper according to ISO 9706. The regulations of the Swedish National Archive refer to these standards.
