The project Level Up Regional Game Industry aims to strengthen the computer game industry in Västra Götaland by supporting its actors in various ways to achieve a more robust sector with more significant influence and more sustainable economic conditions.

The background to initiating the project is that the computer games industry is growing rapidly and that there are challenges in the ecosystem and infrastructure for developing the games industry in Sweden.

The project aims to address current and future societal challenges, both in the computer games industry and other sectors, by promoting greater democracy, technology and method transfer for increased digitalisation and games to enable, for example, learning and skills development.

The project also seeks to create a strong community of computer game actors and collaborate with other industries to achieve synergies. This will be achieved through a regional community.

The project has identified six different focus areas that together contribute to the project's goal fulfilment:

  • Promotion of research
  • Skills & talent
  • Societal impact
  • Technology development
  • Business models and financing
  • Regional community

The project's implementation is hoped to contribute to a more sustainable computer games industry with more significant influence and competitiveness, which in turn will contribute to Sweden's economic development.
