Innovation test bed for development and production of nanomaterials

LEE-BED brings together world leading European research and technology organizations (FTOs) and industry to create an Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) with a focus on nanomaterials and embedded electronics.

Koncept

LEE-BED is an open test bed for the development and production of nanomaterials for embedded electronics. LEE-BED brings together world leading research institutes in printed electronics to create an environment open for interested parties to evaluate printed electronics for their application. In the test bed, you get access to a technological, economic, LCA, patent-mapping and safety assessment as well as state-of-the-art facilities in the production of nanomaterials, ink formulation and digital manufacturing.

The schematic image above shows the overall concept of the test bed. Through the common  Single Entry Point, stakeholders receive a technological, economic and safety assessment by introducing nanomaterials into their products. In the event of a positive assessment, stakeholders are offered an opportunity to carry out pilot projects in phase II. Successful pilot projects undergo phase III where knowledge transfer, IPR discussions and business plan are completed.

RISE have two main tasks in the project

  • Uppgrading of pilotproduction of ink formulations based on nanomaterials for inkjet.
  • Uppgrading of inkjet roll to roll pilot production.

Partner

LEE-BED consists of both end users and research institutes from different parts of the EU. The research institutes cover areas such as nanoparticle production, ink formulations, printing processes, characterization for market analyzes and life cycle analyzes.
