Flexible graphene pressure sensor for compression therapy

The project aims to validate a potential solution by using graphene textile pressure sensor to the long-standing medical issues on pressure dosage in compression therapy.

The propose of the project is to verify the potential of graphene textile 3D pressure porotype sensor to correctly measure the compression presses for sub-bandage-pressure and compression stocking for compression therapy. In the project, three work packages which cover the most important parts of value chain of medical device development: 1) medical and clinical requirements (Tryck or Treat AB (consultant and reference)), 2) graphene and sensor producer (Grafren AB) and 3) sensor and comfort measurements and recycling solution (RISE IVF AB); the compression solution providers as reference for later development of products. The results of the project will contribute to explore and to develop the graphene commercial application potential in wearable medical devices and to further complete the consortium with wound care product providers and health care sectors for further development plans. The outcome of project is also expected to have impact on the UN SDGs 3.8 to promote well-being at all ages and 12.5 to sustainable consumption and production. And by extension contribute significantly to environmentally friendly electronics development and the circular bioeconomy.
