Effective decrease of water consumption in households
The water and wastewater industry in Sweden has historically not focused on measures to reduce water consumption, but climate change, among other things, has created a driving force to implement measures to reduce water consumption.
This is a preparatory project that focuses on identifying measures with great potential for water saving and creating conditions for implementing and evaluating the methods in an implementation project.
The purpose of the project is to gather the most important actors and create conditions for reducing water consumption in households in Sweden by identifying and characterizing methods that can be used for this purpose so that informative decisions can be made and the methods that give the greatest effect can be implemented.
Within the project, good examples of solutions that have been used nationally and internationally have been collected. Solutions in the following areas are identified:

- Financial incentives
- Information
- Nudging
- Technical solutions
- Alternative water quality
- Shared water use
- Combinations of methods above
