Wood-based textiles will become more common
Have you ever checked to see what material your shirt or T-shirt is made from? Cotton remains the most common choice, although there is increasing demand for clothes made from cellulose fibres from trees. This is because cotton farming is particularly hard on ecosystems, while at the same time we need to start reducing our use of fossil-based raw materials. Fabric from cellulose is then one of the alternatives. Our researchers are also looking at new ways to use textile fibres.
