Melinda From is a Senior Transformation strategist at the Center for Security Design and Innovation (CSDI) at RISE. She works with systemic transformation at the intersection of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, resilience, total defence and societal security.
Her work focuses on building strategic partnerships between public authorities, industry, academia and other actors within Sweden’s total defence system, and on translating research, emerging technologies and complex societal needs into tangible organisational capabilities and public value.
Melinda has more than 20 years of experience in leadership, innovation management and organisational development in complex, knowledge-intensive organisations. She has built new operations from the ground up and led one of RISE’s larger departments, comprising approximately 135 employees through 13 directly reporting managers.
Her particular strength lies in combining strategic vision with the ability to deliver. She thrives when something important needs to be built, aligned or transformed, particularly in contexts where multiple stakeholders need to establish a shared direction and move from ambition to action.
A recurring theme in Melinda’s work is the importance of leadership and organisational culture in building resilience. Sustainable transformation is not achieved through technology, strategies and structures alone, but through people’s ability to collaborate, act under uncertainty and turn ambition into practice.
