Examples of applications where he has applied machine learning at RISE are pulp and paper, rolling mills and die casting.
Before starting at RISE, Mats worked mostly at ABB with modeling, control technology, signal processing, optimization and applied mathematics for industrial applications such as: models for hot rolling of steel, speed control of drivelines (rolling mills, mines, paper machines, test rigs for trucks, etc. ), as well as automation in mines and at sawmills.
