NextBioForm's partners

The centre has 18 partners distributed in academia, institute, industry and hospital. The centre has two geographical nodes, Stockholm/Uppsala and Lund/Malmö. Two partners are located outside Sweden: Ferring Pharmaceuticals in Denmark and Regenics A/S in Norway.

1. RISE

RISE is an independent, state-owned research institute. The Division of Bioscience and Materials has strong activities in the field of formulation for biologics both in publicly funded projects and in proprietary industrial contracts. We work with liquid and solid formulation, protein interactions at interfaces, fibrillation, as well as novel formulation platforms that enhance protein stability and formulation of probiotics. RISE promotes the innovation capacity within the industry, acts as a link between academia and industry and translates basic science into innovations with benefits for industry and society.

2. Lund University

Lund University was founded in 1666 and is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities. The department of food technology engineering and nutrition has strong research groups within the areas of applied surface and colloid chemistry, formulation, of food and pharmaceutical, characterization of macromolecules and probiotics.

3. Malmö University

Malmö University (MAU) is an international University with an interdisciplinary approach. The Biofilms – Research Center for Biointerfaces at MAU includes strong research groups within the Material and Life Sciences with several research projects in close collaboration with national and international companies. The research is focused on phenomena related to biofilms and biologically relevant surfaces.

8. Regenics

Regenics is an Oslo-based SME biotech company operating in the very strong marine biotech cluster of Norway. Our core business is to develop marine technologies and products for therapeutic applications such as wound healing. Regenics technology is based on the use of bioactive substances from unfertilized salmon roe cytoplasm with strong skin regenerative activity.

9. Ilya Pharma

Ilya Pharma develops the next generation biologics to treat wounds in skin and mucosa. It is an innovative Swedish pharmaceutical company founded in 2016 developing drug candidates for proof of concept in clinical phase I and II from its technology platform of lactic acid bacteria expressing different human therapeutic proteins. 10. Spiber Technologies AB

Spiber Technologies AB is a research-based biotech company developing technologies based on the recombinant spider silk proteins Spiber® and SolvNT®.
