Fires cause injuries and deaths, as well as billions in losses, every year. At the same time, society is placing ever-higher demands on fire safety in buildings, vehicles and facilities. Companies must ensure that their products meet fire safety requirements in accordance with national and international regulations, while also developing safer materials and designs. Effective fire protection can save lives, limit damage and create safer environments.
RISE offers testing, certification and consulting services to ensure that products and designs meet these requirements. RISE's fire safety operations are among the world's best in this area. In fire stations and laboratories, we test everything from building materials, cables and furniture to complete vehicles, batteries, trains and toys in accordance with standards such as EN 13823, EN 50399, EN 45545 and EN 1021. RISE certifies products for CE marking and type approval, evaluating extinguishing systems, sprinkler systems and fire-resistant cabinets, among other things. In the world's only battery safety laboratory, batteries are tested under extreme conditions such as fire, vibration and temperature shocks, in an explosion-proof environment with a state-of-the-art purification plant that guarantees optimal sustainability. We also conduct fire investigations for companies, insurance companies and authorities and evaluate fire-damaged structures. Our research and simulation work supports the development of safer products and the design of fire protection systems for buildings, tunnels and underground facilities.
