Heat Pumps and Residual Heat (KEF)

Participate in our upcoming Knowledge Exchange Forum on heat pumps and waste heat recouperation. During this dynamic discussion session we will focus on what decision makers need to keep in mind when evaluating the use of heat pumps to recuperate low-temperature waste heat for high temperature networks.

In the energy transition toward a net-zero economy, heat pumps are a key enabling technology that play a crucial role in transforming waste heat into valuable energy, contributing significantly to improved efficiency in district heating systems. However, selecting the appropriate heat pump for specific types of waste heat recouperation may be tricky and needs to be carefully done. As it often is with district heating networks, the local specificities of the residual heat available, size of the networks and growth forecasts will greatly impact the type of solution that needs to be implemented.
