Contact EmiliaDistrict Heating and Cooling (DHC) plays a vital role in Europe’s journey toward decarbonisation. It currently covers 13% of the heating and cooling market. To meet the EU’s climate goals, this share must rise significantly by 2030 and 2050, requiring increased investment and strong policy support for clean heat.
The Clean Industrial Deal and the upcoming revision of the EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) present a critical window of opportunity to accelerate this transition. To fully seize this potential, dedicated financial instruments and support mechanisms are needed to drive the large-scale deployment and modernisation of DHC networks across Europe. This is crucial to increase the integration of RES and to facilitate the recouperation of waste energy in urban energy networks.
You are kindly welcome to join us on Friday November 7 at 09:30 CET to discuss the needs and opportunities of DHC in the current policy framework, providing real project examples and reflecting on the near future of the sector. This knowledge exchange forum will focus on some of the major funding schemes, such as the Innovation and the Modernisation Funds and discuss how these could further support the DHC sector.
The discussion will be moderated by Martin Strolený, Innovation Manager at Euroheat & Power and Emilia Pisani, Communications and Project Manager at RISE.
