Good air quality in bathing facilities with focus on Trichloramine

Requirements for lower climate impact and energy use will affect bathing facilities in the future, but it has not been well studied how these affect air quality and the work environment.

The purpose of the project is to document and evaluate the effects and potential risks related to work, indoor environment, and moisture safety in a newly built swimming pool facility under various energy saving measures. The effect on air quality with a focus on trichloramine under different operating cases with reduced ventilation combined with pool coverage and changes in the operation of the water treatment system will be evaluated and compared to more traditional operation of a swimming pool facility.
