Calibration of temperature instruments at the National Laboratory
The National Laboratory for Temperature provides comparative calibration of resistance thermometers and thermocouples.
Purpose
The national laboratories have are responsible for maintaining the national reference standards for each measurement quantity and spreading metrological competence and traceability to industry and society at large. The national reference standards are the highest level of traceability in Sweden.
A calibration performed at a national laboratory fulfils all typical traceability and accreditation requirements that commonly exist in industry and society at large.
Method
Comparative calibration of liquid-in-glass thermometers, resistance thermometers, thermocouples and digital temperature gauges. In comparative calibration, liquid baths and ovens are used to provide a stable measurement environment.
We compare calibration to most types of thermometers including digital thermometers and liquid-in-glass thermometers. We have different types of thermostated calibration baths that cover the area
-100 ° C to 550 ° C. Thermocouples are also calibrated in electric tubes up to 1200 ° C.
Deliveries
The calibration results are reported in a digital calibration certificate in Swedish or English which states that the calibration was performed at a national laboratory.
Ordering
Order can be sent to risekalibrering@ri.se, or through the case management in our customer website Calibration.
