The goal is to implement new AI- and robotics-solutions that will strengthen food production in a time of climate change and global competition.
European agriculture and food production is facing a number of challenges like climate change, import dependence, antibiotic resistance, reduced profitability and infertile soil. This project shall support European organizations in their development of new systems for artificial intelligence and robotics that can be used in the agricultural sector in order to solve some of the difficulties. RISE is participating in the project alongside partners from nine other European countries. We offer several facilities in Sweden where companies can test and evaluate new technology in realistic environments before market introduction. Two examples are our facility outside of Gothenburg for testing automated vehicles and our experimental cropland outside of Uppsala where we offer testing of new technology for future agriculture.
The hope is that the project will both shorten the time to introduce new innovations to the market and increase the trust in new AI- och robotic solutions within the agricultural sector.
